Some women build
successful careers. Others build strong families. And then there are women like
Lyudmila Mierova – women who, while nurturing both a career and a family,
transform personal hardship into a mission that changes thousands of lives.
As the founder of All
About Kindness, Lyudmila has spent years responding to the needs of struggling
families, single mothers, Holocaust survivors, lonely seniors, children
battling illness, and countless individuals who feel they have nowhere else to
turn. Guided by her deeply held belief that no soul should ever be left behind,
she has dedicated herself to ensuring that no person faces hardship alone.
What began as a
single act of kindness has grown into a powerful nonprofit organization devoted
to restoring dignity, hope, and human connection. Through Shabbat and holiday
packages, dignified shopping experiences, yeshiva tuition and camp
sponsorships, mental health support, educational programming, and community
outreach initiatives, All About Kindness has become a lifeline for thousands.
Driven by the belief
that every individual deserves to be seen, valued, and supported, Lyudmila has
emerged as a beacon of compassion in a world often marked by uncertainty. Her
work extends far beyond providing assistance – it restores faith, renews hope,
strengthens communities, and reminds people that their current situation is not
their final destination.
In this exclusive
interview, Lyudmila shares the deeply personal journey that inspired All About
Kindness, the lessons she has learned through adversity, and her vision for
creating a stronger, more compassionate future for generations to come.
I have had the honor and privilege of sitting down with a woman
whose life reflects deep faith, unwavering strength, and a profound connection
to G-d's purpose.
I have known Lyudmila Mierova personally for many years, and
throughout that time I have watched her grow into someone who not only believes
in her mission but lives it wholeheartedly. I have always believed in her
vision and continue to support her work with all my heart.
This interview is especially meaningful to me because it
goes beyond a personal story. It speaks about faith, resilience, and the
understanding that nothing in life is coincidental – that everything is guided
from Above, reminding us that Ein Od Milvado – there is nothing besides Him. My
hope is that through Lyudmila's journey, we can inspire others to open their
hearts, support one another, and strengthen our community through kindness,
humility, and purpose.
Lyudmila's story begins in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where her
early childhood was filled with warmth and simplicity – until civil war changed
everything. She remembers a time when food became scarce, everyday necessities
turned into luxuries, and her parents made the life-altering decision to leave
everything behind in search of safety and religious freedom.
Arriving in the United States at just nine years old,
Lyudmila faced challenges familiar to many immigrants: language barriers,
cultural differences, and the loneliness of starting over. Yet even during
those difficult years, her parents instilled in her the values that would shape
her future – honesty, resilience, faith, and the importance of education.
As she grew older, Lyudmila pursued her studies with
determination, eventually earning her master's degree in Speech and Language
Pathology. But life had another path waiting for her - one that would test her
in ways she never imagined.
After becoming a mother, she endured nearly a decade of
unexplained secondary infertility. At the heart of her journey was also her
role as a mother role that shaped not only her strength but also the compassion
and sensitivity she brings to every life she touches. What began with hope
slowly evolved into years of emotional pain, unanswered questions, and private
struggles.
Rather than allowing that pain to consume her, Lyudmila
chose to turn outward. She began helping families in need and individuals struggling
in silence, and through those acts of giving she discovered a profound truth:
healing does not always come from receiving – it often comes from giving.
During this period of spiritual growth, Lyudmila received a
blessing from the respected Rabbi Meir Yosef Stren shlit"a, who told her
that by caring for Hashem's children, Hashem would bless her with additional
children of her own to nurture. Those words became far more than a blessing;
they became a responsibility she carried in her heart from that day forward.
What began as a small sewing class organized to raise funds
for a family in need eventually grew into support for thousands of families,
along with life-skills and empowerment programs that continue to transform
lives today. It started as a single act of kindness and gradually developed
into a mission firmly rooted in faith and service to Hashem.
That realization became the foundation of what would later
grow into something far greater.
In 2021, Lyudmila officially founded All About Kindness – but
in truth, the mission had already been alive within her for years.
Every case is approached with care, dignity, and
responsibility. The organization has developed a thoughtful process for
evaluating each situation and ensuring that support reaches those who truly
need it. This work is made possible by a devoted network of volunteers,
including students, professionals, business owners, and community members – who
generously contribute their time, expertise, and resources. From attorneys to
grocery store owners, every person plays a role, not for recognition, but in
service of something greater.
At its core, this work is not about promoting names or
highlighting individuals. It is about serving a higher purpose. Guided by a
deep sense of faith and responsibility, Lyudmila ensures that every act of
kindness is carried out with humility, integrity, and the understanding that
all blessings and outcomes ultimately come from Hashem.
For Lyudmila, it is not only about helping, but also about
helping the right way.
On May 18, 2026, I had the honor of attending the Jewish
American Heritage Celebration, where Lyudmila was recognized by Queens Borough
President Donovan Richards Jr. as one of five distinguished honorees for her
outstanding dedication and compassionate service through All About Kindness.
The event celebrated the rich history, culture,
achievements, and contributions of Jewish Americans. It was truly inspiring to
witness Lyudmila receive this well-deserved recognition for the kindness,
support, and unity she continues to bring to so many lives through her
organization.
We spoke about this journey in a more personal way.
– Your life has been filled with both challenges and
blessings. Looking back, where did you feel G-d's presence the most?
– When I look back now, I see that He was always there – even
in the moments when I felt most alone. During the hardest times, especially
throughout my years of infertility, I didn't always understand why things were
happening. But today I know that nothing is accidental. Every step was guiding
me to where I am now. In the moments when I felt buried, I was actually being
planted.
– How did that experience transform your faith?
– It changed everything. It broke me, but it also rebuilt
me. I learned to stop asking, "Why me?" and instead ask, "What
is this teaching me?" That was when my connection to Hashem became real – not
only in words, but in the way I chose to live my life every day.
– When did you realize your pain had a greater purpose?
– When I started helping others. I saw people facing
struggles even greater than my own, and it shifted my perspective. The more I
gave, the more I witnessed the hand of Hashem guiding the entire process. It
strengthened me in ways that are difficult to put into words. That was when I understood
that kindness is not simply something we do, it is something that transforms
us.
– What makes All About Kindness different from other
organizations?
– It was never about paycheck. From the very beginning,
every dollar raised went directly back into helping the community. We
understand that hardship doesn't wait, which is why our application process and
support system are designed to respond quickly and efficiently.
We are not simply a pantry distribution program – we provide
a dignified shopping experience. We make sure children have access to the
educational resources, mental health support, and yeshiva education they
deserve, whether through guidance, advocacy, or financial assistance.
Most importantly, we don't just help and walk away. We stay
connected. We help individuals and families access resources, build support
systems, and regain their independence. Often, our goal is not only to help
someone through a difficult moment, but to empower them to stand on their own
again within a matter of months.
We provide financial literacy guidance, job-search
assistance, and practical tools that help people rebuild their lives with
dignity and confidence.
The Torah teaches us, "The greatest level, above which
there is no greater, is to support a fellow Jew by endowing him with a gift or
loan, and finding employment for him, in order to strengthen his hand so that
he will not need to be dependent upon others."
That principal guides everything we do.
– There is a strong spiritual foundation in everything
you do. Can you speak about that?
– Everything we do must be done the right way – with
honesty, dignity, and a connection to Hashem. There is a saying, Ein Od
Milvado – there is nothing besides Him. That belief guides me in every
aspect of life.
We do our part, but we understand that all success comes
from Him. Every opportunity to help another person is a blessing and a
responsibility.
– What message would you give to someone who is going
through a difficult time right now?
– Never believe your prayers are wasted. Even when you don't
see immediate results, something is happening. Use your struggles as building
blocks. Try to find Hashem even in the darkest moments – that are often where
the deepest connection is created.
Most importantly, know that Hashem chose you because He
loves you, not because He wants to punish you. He is waiting for that
connection with you. The stronger that foundation becomes, the more you will
realize that you are never alone.
Your current situation is NOT your final destination.
– What is your vision moving forward?
– My goal is to continue building programs that empower our
community, especially our youth. Our dream is to establish a permanent
headquarters for All About Kindness – a community center where young people can
grow, learn valuable life skills, develop financial literacy, strengthen their
emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, and build confidence through a
Torah-based perspective.
By investing in our youth today, we are building a stronger
future for tomorrow.
Perhaps the greatest lesson she leaves us with is this:
Nothing is by chance. Everything is guided from Above.
And through kindness, each of us has the ability to become a
source of light in someone else's life.
