Bukharian women of past and present

Paris, Purpose, and Possibility

My trip to Paris in was more than just travel – it was a deeply meaningful experience that reminded me how powerful it is to say yes to opportunities, even before you feel fully ready for them.

This journey began because of a women’s empowerment organization, which discovered me through Instagram. They first invited me to speak at one of their events in Miami the year before. At the time, I was in the middle of a busy season of life and business, and without overthinking it, I simply said yes. They wanted me to speak about mompreneurship – how to balance motherhood and entrepreneurship. I had never spoken on such a large stage before or stood in front of hundreds of people, but I went anyway.

Before stepping onto that stage in Miami, I wrote down just three main points and created only two slides – one introducing who I was, and the final slide with my QR code. That was it. No elaborate preparation, n o perfect script. Just faith, experience, and a willingness to show up. What happened next changed something in me. I was received with so much warmth, support, and admiration. Women came up to me afterward, many of them mothers, thanking me for sharing what felt possible. Their words stayed with me long after I returned home.

After Miami, I went right back into my busy life. It was around Rosh Hashanah, and everything moved quickly again. Then I received another message from one of the IBIS organizers. She told me that my numbers had been incredible and that the audience response had been outstanding. They wanted to invite me again – this time to speak in Paris, at the beginning of March 2026.

I was shocked, honored, and humbled. Like many women, I have felt that quiet voice of imposter syndrome whispering, Who are you to do this? Why would people want to hear from you? But I also knew that I come from a background where opportunities like this were never simply placed in front of us. I am the first in my family to step into spaces like these, to dream this big, and to say yes to stages I once never imagined for myself. So once again, I said yes.

Paris was absolutely beautiful. The energy felt different – peaceful, elegant, and inspiring. The city seemed to invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and appreciate beauty in a way everyday life often does not allow. The night before the conference began, I walked into the conference room and saw rows of seats set up for the next two days, knowing I would be speaking there. It was surreal, and I felt incredibly honored.

Just like I had in Miami, I kept it simple. I wrote down three points and trusted myself. On the first day, I spoke and watched women in the audience nodding, clapping, and connecting with my words in real time. The next day, I delivered my talk differently, and again I was received so beautifully. The response was overwhelming in the best way.

During the event, I was awarded two microphone awards and received two recognition plaques, which made the experience even more touching. People took photos with me, asked for my contact information, and invited me onto podcasts and future platforms. I left Paris not only grateful, but changed.

Outside of the conference, I had the chance to enjoy the beauty of Paris itself – from a professional photoshoot by the Eiffel Tower to long, peaceful breakfasts where I could simply sit and do nothing for a while. As a wife, a mother of six, and a woman with many responsibilities, I want other women to know that these roles do not have to stop us. For me, they are what push me forward.

As of March 4, 2026, I officially became an international speaker. That title is something I carry with deep gratitude and humility. More than anything, this journey opened a door to new possibilities – and reminded me that when women step into spaces they were never shown growing up, it is something we should all be proud of.
