Dear readers, you've probably noticed
that in every issue we dedicate special attention to health-related articles,
as health is the most important human value and an irreplaceable societal
asset. In this issue, we have devoted numerous sections to the subject of
physical and mental wellness. There is an exclusive key material that combines
both of them. But in order.
I believe that you will all find it
fascinating to meet Dr. Gennady Meisenberg, who is featured on the cover of our
magazine. I asked him, my longtime friend and an exceptional, multifaceted
doctor, to appear in our publication for a reason - I persuaded him for a long
time (he doesn't need advertising) because, knowing our community "from
the inside," particularly its state of health, I want to see it become
less painful and happier. And not only that! I wish to convey to you that modern
medicine is able to make us look younger - face, body, and especially soul -
without costly plastic surgery, helps us to endure certain phases of life,
which almost the entire adult population of the planet experiences, and also -
successfully makes us more energized and even happier. This type of medication
is known as anti-aging medicine, and New York City is home to a medical
institution that specializes in it. Few individuals in my vicinity are aware of
it. And what a shame! Ultimately, everyone desires to be youthful, healthy, and
content, but not everyone knows how to achieve these goals. Therefore, I
recommend that all of our readers, both men and women, read the interview with
Dr. Meisenberg on pages 14 to 16, from which you will learn a great deal of
previously unknown material. And when you do, consider whether you are living
the correct lifestyle.
As you know, we are what we eat! How
often do we consider it? Often with the best of intentions, we include low-fat
goods in our diet, eliminate all animal fats, and regulate blood cholesterol
levels... But is cholesterol really so harmful? On page 36, you will get
cholesterol information that will alter your perceptions and eating habits.
Have you considered if your diet is
dominated by processed or natural (unprocessed) foods? And this is just as
essential as counting calories. Markeel Fazilov provides his perspective on the
issue on page 33.
But what is not only not harmful, but
even beneficial is a good glass of red wine (p. 34). Within reasonable limits,
of course! If you keep to the required dosage, your favorite wine will not only
benefit your physical health, but also your emotional wellness!
Keeping in mind the old proverb that a
healthy body leads to a healthy spirit (although I feel that a healthy spirit
maintains a healthy body), you should also pay special attention to your
emotional health. But are we all guilty? We are accustomed to rushing to the
doctor whenever our bodies ache. How frequently do we work on our mental
health? Did you know that crying is a means by which the brain releases
negative emotions? Often, crying will improve your mood. How frequently do men
cry tears? If men do cry, it is more likely to be in a hidden manner, but the
restriction on such an emotional display has decreased in recent years. And
should he "always control his emotions," or is he permitted to vent
his feelings? On page 26, you can discover some thoughts on this topic.
Did you know that self-criticism has a
damaging effect on emotional health? See pages 28-29 for information on the
nature of this unpleasant phenomena, the dangers it poses, and methods of
avoidance.
Do you know what makes us calmer and happier?
A simple detail! How easy it turns out to be... During the previous lockdowns,
it became abundantly evident how soulless life has become. But it is recognized
that physical contact has a calming impact on us and is essential to our
psychological and physical health. The mere touch of a dog or cat can
dramatically alter our emotions. Read pages 30-31 for advice on how to apply it
in everyday life.
Undeniably, the ways for enhancing
emotional health also involve meaningful reunions with friends, especially at
the cherished Women's World on Wheels Living Room, as described on pages 24-25.
In conclusion, I cannot avoid mentioning the upcoming Thanksgiving and Hanukkah holidays. Thanksgiving is not only a time for families to reunite around the table, but also a wonderful opportunity to express love and gratitude to our neighbors and our country. I congratulate you all, my friends, on the upcoming holidays and, of course, wish you continued health and prosperity. May all of our good deeds be successful, and may our positive intentions materialize through diligent effort.
