Dear friends,
The start of the New Year 2025 and the continuation of Hanukkah week have become true symbols of miracles and inspiration for me! These days hold a special meaning as I worked on the latest issue of our magazine, and each moment brought me a profound sense of fulfillment. The joy I feel while discovering new people and fascinating events in our community is indescribable. Writing about such extraordinary and captivating individuals is both easy and enjoyable—they have touched my heart, and I am confident they will touch yours too. Through their hard work and ideas, they strengthen, develop, and bring renown to our community, contributing to its image and significance.

Our Talented Women

I am delighted that our “Women’s” magazine offers the opportunity to celebrate and admire the talents of young Bukharian Jewish women of the new generation, who have so much potential to make our lives brighter and richer.

On this issue’s cover, we once again feature Evgenia Aronova. A year ago, we introduced you to this vibrant and extraordinary young woman. A high-level professional in finance, a loving wife, and a devoted mother of four daughters, she possesses a multitude of talents: poet, singer, songwriter, actress, and composer. Now, she surprises us with an entirely new talent—writing! Today, I proudly congratulate Evgenia on her literary debut, the release of her book "The Heritage". This work undeniably adds a significant intellectual contribution to the achievements of our community. In her book, she shares the true story of her lineage, showcasing not only her intellectual prowess but also her boundless energy and deep knowledge of her ancestors’ lives. The book has already received accolades from readers and literary critics alike. I started reading this novel and couldn’t put it down—the gripping plot, combined with the unique blend of reality, love, mysticism, and the history of Bukharian Jews, makes it truly special. I highly recommend treating yourself to this fascinating book, now available on Amazon.

Another remarkable young woman, Sandra Gadaev—a licensed occupational therapist, talented choreographer, producer, and director—recently organized an unforgettable dance event dedicated to Israel and in memory of its victims. What made this concert unique was the performance of children aged 3 to 16—members of Sandra’s dance studio. Thank you, Sandra, for your talent, enthusiasm, and dedication! I fondly remember your childhood and teenage performances at numerous Women’s World events and am genuinely delighted by your professional growth and your passion for making a difference in society. Thank you for helping our talented children grow creatively, spend time meaningfully, and strengthen their physical and emotional well-being, all while contributing to the prosperity of our community!

Victoria Baraev—a life coach from the Atlanta community, a professional psychologist studying Torah-based psychology, and a longtime contributor to our magazine—addresses the important and timely topic of apologizing in family dynamics in this issue (p. 30). I am confident we will soon discuss this topic live on Facebook.

I personally know these three women, and I am in awe of how they combine femininity, inner strength, and vibrant character. How else can one balance family, career, and creativity without such determination and passion for life?

Our Talented Men

I cannot overlook the men in our community whose remarkable talents contribute to preserving Jewish traditions and advancing our collective growth.

Ezro Malakov, the head of his family, along with his younger relatives, organized a unique Hanukkah celebration this year (p. 19).

Another outstanding representative is Leo Yakubov, founder and president of the “Bukharian Jewish Bar Association,” which currently includes 170 lawyers and 100 students. As an experienced attorney and public figure, Leo works tirelessly to promote justice and develop accessible legal assistance for community members.

Lastly, the new project Shofar-TV, created by Edward Gavrielov (Israel), aims to combat hatred, break stereotypes, and popularize the rich culture of Jewish communities worldwide. Join the Shofar-TV initiative and help make our world a brighter place!

Dear friends, every event and every person featured in this issue is a step forward in the prosperity of our community. Let’s wish them all success!
