Mother Daughter Paint Night

On June 20th, BJW Book Club Leadership Committee organized a community event "Mother Daughter Paint Night". This event was sold out in a few days and was flawlessly executed. You could breathe in the spirit of unity.

We have accommodated 55 people in our beautiful Bukharian Jewish Community Center (special thanks to Iosif Khaimov). I would like to express my gratitude to the following people who helped to organize this amazing event that is strengthening our community:

Victoria Khanimov instructed paint night perfectly, she offered a helping hand, listening ear and her mom and daughter were assisting with organizing everything beautifully. Everyone left with a work of art that displayed love of moms to daughters and daughters to moms.

Vera Borukhov has started the night with an insightful speech and gratitude prompt that allowed moms and daughters to thank each other for the past year's impact.

Shoshana Aminov with her daughter Rachel helped to create a fun atmosphere with soft music and administrative assistance for this beautiful event. Elena Levy – our photographer for the night organized prizes for the team of winners of trivia which were welcomed with smiles.

Diana Sionov – your hosting abilities are superb, and food that you have organized was delicious, this created a very relaxed, fulfilling and a filling event. I have also played an important role in organizing the event, creating awareness (PR), as well as conducting fun trivia game that created considerable brain activity and awakened team spirit. Our smartest and largest team «Malachim» won gift cards to «Sephora» – they were super happy.

All in all, excellent job. This cultural event fostering Jewish intergenerational connection, art and creativity was made possible by President of QJCC Michael Nussbaum & President of World of Women Immigrants Svetlana Levitin who have graciously sponsored this event. I was so inspired by the displayed unity that I even wrote this poem:

The paint night had us unite

To work together as a team

To follow our common dream

Of being the light and a delight

To serve the people, be the might

A driving force of growth, art

A constellation of some smart

Creative, active, joyful ladies

That dream and even in their eighties

Will serve community by reading,

By dancing, painting and breathing

By being role models, by uniting

The generations and inviting

All our people join us

To strive, to learn and to discuss,

To serve Almighty and our nation

To strengthen friendships and relations.

The paint night had us unite

And that ignited spark of light.
