The Ladies’ World
magazine and the Esther HaMalka organization extend our deepest
condolences to our member Mara Bababekova, her husband Tolik, and their entire family
on the untimely passing of their daughter Albina, who left this world at the
age of 48.
With heavy hearts, we received the news of an irreplaceable loss — the passing of a young, beautiful, intelligent, and exceptionally creative woman, Albina, who had just recently turned 48. A life filled with love, dreams, and care for her parents, brother, sister, and nieces and nephews was suddenly cut short.
Many warm memories
were shared at her funeral — all of them honoring the bright legacy she left in
the hearts of everyone who knew her, everyone she smiled at, encouraged, and
helped both in word and deed.
Albina was born on
May 27 in the city of Tashkent. She was just one year old when her family
immigrated to America. Her childhood was like that of many others: school,
college, friends. A brilliant student, she had a special passion for the exact
sciences — mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
Well-rounded,
sharp, and charismatic, Albina had a natural ability to connect with people.
She gathered many friends around her, showed a keen interest in other cultures,
read extensively, and possessed maturity and education well beyond her years.
Most remarkable was her sincere desire to care for others, always ready to help
anyone in need. Her compassion and instinct to be the first to lend a hand
touched everyone who knew her. Kindness and sensitivity were her defining
traits. She had a gift for lifting others with a kind word — and sometimes just
with her presence.
She showed special
attention and warmth to her nieces and nephews: reading to them, dedicating
time to their upbringing, being a true friend and mentor.
Just when everyone
was joyfully looking forward for Albina’s wedding and life seemed on the brink
of a new, happy chapter, the Bababekov family was struck by a devastating
diagnosis, like a bolt from the blue. This news turned the world upside down
for every member of this close-knit family. Yet Albina remained resilient and
positive, doing everything she could to support those around her. She truly believed
in recovery, constantly seeking paths to healing and never losing hope. Her
strength of spirit was so great that people often forgot she was gravely ill.
Her loved ones never once heard a word of complaint or bitterness about her
fate. Her room often rang with contagious laughter, jokes, and meaningful
conversations. Albina had many friends, and each of them will forever carry in
their heart the image of a bright, kind, and beloved soul.
For many years,
Albina supported our magazine, translating texts into English quickly and with
deep understanding. A creative soul, she also enthusiastically offered her
mother, Mara, innovative and original design ideas for the festive events
organized by Ladies’ World. For example, at the recent Person of the Year event dedicated to supporting Israel in the war after October 7th, it
was Albinochka’s idea to decorate the banquet tables with large blue globes —
symbolizing the world and international friendship.
Her parents, Mara
and Tolik, did everything humanly possible to extend their daughter’s time on
this earth. The final days were especially difficult. Just after her last
birthday, as if sensing something important, Albina asked for forgiveness and,
as though saying goodbye, quietly retreated to her room, where her journey to
the next world began.
For several weeks,
Mara never left her daughter’s side, entrusting that sacred role to no one. She
accepted the unfolding events with faith and deep understanding that this was
Fate and the will of G-d, recognizing that Albinochka had fulfilled her Mission
on this earth.
May Albina’s bright
and gentle soul find peace and may the light she so generously shared with the
world remain with us always. Though her time was short, she succeeded in giving
those around her love, warmth, and care.
We grieve
with you:
