This issue of our
magazine comes out just two days before one of the most touching and heartfelt
holidays – Mother’s Day.
We worked with
dedication to publish it in time, so we could extend our warmest
congratulations to everyone who is called by that tender and meaningful word – MOM.
This holiday is
cherished by all. It is a time to offer special attention not simply to women,
but to MOTHERS – those who not only carry, give birth to, and raise
children, but who also invest in them their love, soul, and the wisdom gained
through life experience.
As I’ve said many
times before, it brings me special joy to highlight extraordinary women who,
alongside their many personal achievements, also serve as shining examples of
selfless devotion to others – including their communities. To live a life that
brings good not only to oneself but to others requires great strength of
character, compassion, altruism, and the ability to feel others’ pain as one’s
own – to reach out and help those in need.
I continue to be
inspired by the young mothers in our community, who seem to do it all – loving
wives, nurturing mothers, successful professionals, and active contributors to
community life.
One of these
exceptional women is the focus of this holiday issue – Chagit
Sofiev-Leviev, who recently became President of the Congress of Bukharian Jews of
the USA and Canada.
Meeting her was a
true revelation. Chagit is not only a beautiful and intelligent woman, highly
educated and professionally accomplished – in my view, she is a superwoman.
It is rare to find a mother of several children who so gracefully balances
family, work, and public life.
Her presence in this
May issue, dedicated to Mothers, is deeply symbolic. I hope it inspires the
younger generation to follow her example. As women, we are inherently capable
of multitasking – handling numerous challenges while focusing on the details
that matter most.
"My goal is to
inspire women to take on leadership roles and follow their dreams – in
business, in the community, and beyond. Our community has tremendous potential,
and I’m proud to be part of our journey toward a brighter future.
At the same time, I firmly believe that family must remain the top priority for
every woman. I truly believe that a strong Jewish home is the foundation for
the future of Am Yisrael (the People of Israel)," says Chagit.
So let it be!
Bestowed by G-d, the goddesses of birth,
Who breathe in babes the miracle of life,
Between the sky above and humble earth
You walk a path of light, untouched by strife.
To you we lift our prayers through all our days,
With love and tenderness we sing your name,
And bow to you in deep, eternal praise —
All Mothers Great, forever we proclaim.
To all our beloved
MOTHERS – Happy Holiday!
Wishing you joyful motherhood and the warm embrace of your loved ones.
Let Mother’s Day
be one more beautiful occasion to gather as a family and say thank you
to your mother, your wife, your grandmother, your mother-in-law, for their
love, care, and unwavering support.
