Even by briefly reviewing this magazine issue, it is easy to understand that we are still under the influence of celebration when we honor our mothers of many children. One can endlessly talk about them, extolling their warmth, talents, and achievements... We are grateful to everyone: those who organized and implemented this project; everyone who participated and made the celebration itself bright, warm, and memorable with their warmth, sense of happiness, and joy; our talented musicians and artists, especially the little ones who came to congratulate our happy mothers and their surroundings; those who shared their impressions of this event in the pages of the magazine; and, of course, special thanks to all the sponsors without whom no charitable event can take place in the community.
One of the touching moments emphasized by each mother who received public recognition this year at the "Salute to Outstanding Mother" was sincere gratitude to their husbands, without whose support each of them could not achieve such success and thrive in all aspects of their demanding daily work, which they contribute together in raising their numerous children and developing the community. In connection with these wonderful women, I would also like to say kind words about men.
Brother, son, father, husband, friend, boss, colleague - at different moments in life, Fate brings us together and separates us from various men. But only in one role - the role of Father - does a man invariably evoke warmth, tenderness, and gratitude. And that's why it's great that there is a holiday dedicated to mothers and fathers, emphasizing their authority in the family, their indispensability, and their significance in raising worthy children. A beautiful holiday is approaching - "Father's Day" as an expression of love and gratitude to them. Dear fathers! From the bottom of my heart and with great respect for your paternal work, I congratulate you on Father's Day! May you have happiness and great satisfaction from the fruits of your labor in raising children, and developing the family, and its well-being! Thank you for helping raise children, supporting your wives, and assisting them in their professional and even public activities.
Lately, one cannot fail to notice the growing social activity of our young women. In this issue, we have devoted a fair share of magazine pages to them. Personally, I am very pleased that our wonderful, intelligent, talented youth does not stop at the level they have reached and continues to develop and improve not only in terms of education but also spiritually, uniting in various intellectual clubs (I wrote about the "What? Where? When?" club in the previous issue). And now I would like to tell you more about the Book Club, which has brought together young women striving for knowledge and self-improvement. The co-leaders of this wonderful community activity are Irina Aronova and Ilana Yuabova. Recently, the Bukharian Jewish Women's Book Club (BJW) celebrated its first anniversary, and the latest meeting, held on the evening of May 30, gathered 40 women! You can learn more about it on page 27 from the impressions of Ilana's daughter - Betty Yuabova.
At the monthly club meetings, participants communicate, discuss, and talk about the books they have read, study the Torah, draw, share knowledge, experience, skills, and opinions, and enrich their leisure time culturally by visiting museums and performances. You can also learn some details about this in this issue.
The emergence of this club and its active activities indicate that the Bukharian Jewish community is witnessing the growth of experienced, curious, and intelligent young women who aspire to grow, learn, and have fun together. I am amazed by the diverse talents and skills of women in our community and how they can come together to support and be helpful to one another while developing themselves spiritually and intellectually. I am delighted that husbands do not hinder but rather assist them in this important human process. It seems to me that there is an increasing number of women's organizations in the community, and this pleases me because the more there are, the better deeds happen among us.
Furthermore, I would like to draw your attention to the pages dedicated to two doctors in our community: Dr. Elena Davydova, a functional medicine doctor based in New York, and Professor Michael Such, the president of the “Avicenna Foundation” and a doctor in Israel. Both, being medical practitioners, address not just the symptoms but also the root causes of diseases, thereby helping to prevent new health issues in the long term. This uniqueness, high effectiveness in healing, and popularity among the population are commendable.
Read our magazine, stay healthy, and be happy!
