Dear friends,
With each issue of our magazine, we introduce you to the remarkable women of
the new generation in our Bukharian community. These women are intelligent,
successful and capable of achieving everything they set their minds to in both
their careers and personal lives.
Recently, I had the great pleasure of getting to know Roza Davydov – the
daughter of my dear friends from Dushanbe, Mikhail and Svetlana Davydov. I was
truly impressed by this exceptional woman: intelligent, beautiful, highly
educated, with a wonderful sense of humor. She is a multifaceted professional,
excelling in various fields, and at the same time, she is a devoted wife, loving
mother, caring daughter, and supportive sister.
It is with great joy that I present the pages of our magazine to this
incredible woman, so that you too can learn about someone who not only brings
kindness and love into our world, but also contributes to our well-being and
health.
– Please tell us a little about your journey and who you
are.
– My name is Roza Davydov. I was born in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and immigrated
to the U.S. at nine. I am passionate about self-love, personal growth, and
meaningful connections. I have a master’s degree and 20 years of accounting
experience, but I never felt connected to it. I found my way into NLP through a
series of events while seeking healing. Now, as a board certified Master
Practitioner of Neurolinguistics and healing therapy (MNLP, MSC, MHt, MTT, EFT),
as well as an author, speaker, and guide, I aim to inspire positive change in
others – often with humor! Above all, I cherish being a mother to my beautiful
kids, Aidan, Audrey, and Arianna!
– What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and how can it benefit individuals?
– NLP is holistic therapy and is the study of how the brain communicates with the body, shaping all the decisions we make. It acts as a guide, helping you control your mind rather than be controlled by it. Through the transformative power of NLP, I help individuals break free from the constraints of limiting beliefs and negative patterns that have held them back. By utilizing powerful techniques, we can shift the way you think, feel, and behave, enabling you to access your inner strength and create lasting change. Whether it’s overcoming unhealthy eating habits, quitting smoking, improving relationships, or discovering who you truly are at the core, NLP offers simple yet profound methods that allow you to heal and grow. Often, lingering issues can be resolved in just one session, as NLP helps reprogram your subconscious mind and release what no longer serves you.
– This is great! It has long been known that our physical
health largely depends on the function of the brain, and I understand how much
you can help people with your new profession. What have you learned about your
experiences in life, and how has NLP supported you?
– One thing I always say is how truly, immensely, incredibly, and undeniably
grateful I am for all the people, places, and things that have hurt me. I wish
everyone understood and accepted this profound and wise analogy and approach to
life, because only through pain we can grow. Only those who hurt us can push us
out of our comfort zones for growth – through healing, understanding, and
learning. What I love about NLP therapy is its powerful focus on
"learnings." It helps you focus on the lessons you've gained about
yourself, instead of attributing fault to external factors, circumstances, or
people.
– I see in you an extraordinary woman who thinks deeply and feels passionately,
and I think you probably have extraordinary hobbies too. Am I right? What are
your hobbies and what do you like to do?
– I have recently discovered something profound about life: if you want to know
and understand who you truly are, think back to what you loved to do as a child
– that’s what needs to be rediscovered.
I rediscovered my childhood passion for flowers, sparked
by my grandfather, who gave me the name "Roza." After taking a flower
arranging class with my kids, my love for flowers was reignited, leading me to
teach workshops with my daughter, my “flower buddy”. I also rekindled my love
for writing, publishing my first book and nearly completing my second on
self-love. This reconnection has allowed me to incorporate flower therapy, soil
work, and NLP into my sessions and workshops.
– Why is it important to rediscover who we were as children in our adulthood?
– Yes, while we are consumed with work, families, and responsibilities, we also
need to acknowledge an additional side of ourselves: the profound beauty and
gifts we received from God as part of our life journey. It’s important to care
for our families, work, and provide, but it is just as essential to make time
to rediscover who we truly are. This process can start with small, manageable
steps. It is not selfish; in fact, it is incredibly important. By rediscovering
ourselves, we teach our children that life is not just about being programmed
by responsibilities, but also about finding joy in being authentic. Who we are
is rooted in who we were as children — before the world added layers to our
truth and created a new identity that might not even connect with our true
self.
– Who are your biggest teachers in life?
– My children are my greatest teachers and truly are teaching me far more than
I could ever teach them. The reason I work so hard is because as a mother, it
is my responsibility to guide them and teach them about their journey, about
God, about love, about life, and why we are here. I want to help them uncover
their mission in this world. I don’t want my kids to be solely programmed by
society, by expectations, or by what they are "supposed" to do.
Instead, I want them to see this life as a true gift and to truly understand
who they are within their souls, as powerful, beautiful creations of God.
– Dear Roza, thank you so much for the time and
thoughtfulness you shared with us during your interview. We sincerely wish you
continued happiness, good health, and much success on your inspiring journey of
helping others. Thank you once again!
– As the holiday
season approaches, I would also like to extend my warmest wishes to all our
readers in celebration of Hanukkah and the upcoming New Year-2025. May this
season bring you joy, good health – both physical and emotional – and countless
blessings.
Thank you!
